For the first time in history, FreqTube FT1 lets you combine the awe-inspiring tone of real tube saturation with the convenience of digital connectivity in an easy to use, portable solution that will take your productions to the next level.
While analog processors are highly coveted, they often require elaborate setups that complicate your workflow, making it hard to strike while your creative iron is hot. FreqTube solves this problem by giving you full control over its four true-analog vacuum tubes via a simple USB connection. You’ll never again have to choose between convenience and quality.
The FT1 delivers real analog drive and color with all the convenience of a VST. Saturation, heat, drive, harmonics, distortion… whatever you want to call it, the FreqTube FT1 adds true-analog valve tone and color to your digital productions via just a simple USB connection.
Process any sound you like via the FreqTube’s four vacuum tubes and eight multimode hardware filters and – control it all via the, included, proprietary VST interface.
Hook up the FreqTube to your computer and load the control VST into your DAW, and you’ve got instant, recallable, low latency command over a broad palette of analog tones from subtle to savage… all with the ease-of-use you would expect from a digital plugin!
Because FT1 uses two sets of two tubes, you get two gain stages with full attenuation per channel for the ultimate in tone shaping. You can even process two stereo signals simultaneously, or up to four mono signals.
The FreqTube gives you hands-on control via its eight control knobs and bright, responsive color display. Of course, you can also use the included VST to control (and automate) all knob parameters. Once you have a sound you like, store it as a pre-set for instant recall.
FreqTube FT1 is not a pedestrian distortion box. It’s a color box with a broad palette of tonal options suitable for creative musicians, demanding engineers, and world-class producers.

It’s just so good, and it’s really, really good, I have to say. Sample drums are benefiting so much from this treatment, it’s insane. And it’s so fine-tunable, it’s not a one-trick pony, you know, you can really, really get it down to science. Plenty of possibilities for it, definitely cool. On synthesisers it just feeds on the meat, it’s just insane. I like that the filters are digital because they just feed into these in a very nice way, and it doesn’t matter what the values say. Having them physically on the interface manages just so much easier to dial this in, and you can use two hands on it absolutely.

It’s super practical… it’s super powerful! The effect on our track was huge!
I really like it. I had never listened to valve before, and found it pretty nice. It brings lots of harmonics, lot of weight on the medium low notes. It helped a lot in these two cases where we used it, they were good and got way better with it. That’s a sign that it is really efficient! I think there are many ways to use it.

Huge fan of the Freqtube here! I have one and I use it on just about every mix. It’s a fantastic saturation/distortion tool and super easy to setup and use. Highly recommend!

Finally an affordable way to enter the analog world.
I’m a very happy customer today. Just receive my product on time. I only mess around with it for almost 30 minutes and already i’m loving it. My drum bus is about to be something serious.

You are getting so much for your money. 4 tubes, digital recall, simple workflow and incredible sound. You really can’t go wrong with the FT1. Want to add saturation and weight to your audio source? If Yes, add a FT1 to it and you have instant gratification and a pleasing sound.

This box is amazing!
I was looking for an expensive sound in the high frequency range, a beautiful expensive shine of those that one knows is achieved in mastering with $6k up units. I told that to my mastering engineer and he told me: “You need the FreqTube, it will give you that and much more. I don’t use my Blackbox hardware anymore, it’s been off for two years, I don’t use the Clariphonic, I use the FreqTube, buy it you won’t regret it “

The Freqtube(s) sound great. The 12AT7S in particular can give a signal a pleasant density and roundness. The tube setting effects range from subtle to very audible, thus offering a wide range of possible applications. (fixed, see below) Problem until April 8th: Above 17 kHz, there is unfortunately aliasing with this thing. I think this is due to the converters. Support confirmed the problem but declined to comment on the cause. They assured me, however, that the next update will significantly reduce this – and at this point you have to think carefully: The tubes sound punchy, creamy, dense and simply organic, but 1000 EUR for something that produces aliasing – as hardware – due to presumed converter problems? I decided to keep the Freqtube because Reaper allows me to upsample the effect instance – and the Freqtube works with a “DAW plugin” that sends the signal to the Freqtube’s external converters, then through the tubes, and then back again via AD. This completely eliminates the aliasing, as the signal is upsampled before being sent through the Freqtube converters. UPDATE: April 25, 2025: I just received an email from Freqtube and was able to test the new firmware, and all I can say is – NAILED IT – ALIASING COMPLETELY FIXED! That’s what I call second-to-none customer service. I’ve been in the business for about 15 years, but the interest, friendliness, and helpfulness shown by the guys and girls at Freqport is top-notch. Great sound – great service! Top marks!
