Hardware / Firmware Design Engineer – Audio Electronics

The Role

We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join our small, expert team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside the company founders and take ownership of hardware development tasks – from schematic design to PCB layout, integration with mechanical and firmware, collaboration and testing.

This is a permanent position with flexible working conditions. An initial 6-month trial period will assess mutual fit.

Key Responsibilities

· Design analog and digital circuits for high-performance audio products

· Develop schematics and components using hardware CAD

· Collaborate with international team members and vendors in a timely manner.

· Build and test prototypes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure performance meets specifications

· Validate designs against customer requirements and support product readiness for manufacturing

· Ensure design is solid and meets regulatory and customer quality expectations.

Essential Skills & Experience

· Proven audio circuit design experience. A passion for Audio.

· Bachelor or higher level degree in Electronics engineering.

· 5+ years’ experience in hardware design, ideally in audio or high-performance analog electronics

· Strong skills in audio analog design, mixed-signal, and power supply design

· Proficiency in Altium Designer (schematic capture, component library management)

· Solid understanding of signal integrity, layout constraints, and EMC/EMI considerations

· Hands-on experience building, debugging, and testing hardware prototypes

Nice To Have Skills

· Design firmware in C for micro-controllers and high performance audio chipsets.

· Experience with firmware design and programming in C and real time concepts related to performance.

Audio Software Developer

The Role

We’re looking for an Audio Software Developer to join our expert team. You’ll work across most of the software sides of our products—from core DSP implementation to cross-platform GUI and plugin integration—working closely with firmware engineering and product designers. This permanent role offers flexible conditions and an initial 6-month trial to ensure the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cross-platform audio applications and plugins in C++ (macOS, Windows)

• Implement real-time DSP algorithms and optimize them for low latency and high performance

• Integrate with Core Audio, Win32, ASIO, and other low-level I/O frameworks and drivers.

• Collaborate in a lightweight Agile process: design, code, test, and troubleshoot

• Work with UI/UX designers to embed audio features into polished front-ends (e.g., Juce, c++, c)

• Document code, write unit tests, and support continuous integration workflows

Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years developing commercial audio software or plugins in C++.

• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering or equivalent proven qualification.

• Deep passion for audio and music, with strong DSP fundamentals

• Proficiency with audio frameworks: Core Audio, WASAPI/ASIO, Win32/COM and Juce on Mac, Windows, Linux.

• Experience optimizing real-time audio algorithms and managing threading/synchronization

• Familiarity with USB audio class, firmware-level interactions, or driver-level concepts

• Comfort with Agile/CI workflows, version control, and automated testing
